Transactional Analysis Training Programme

Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL Entry
Students seeking RPL entry into Transactional Analysis MSc courses will fall into one of several categories:

1 Students who have completed 3 or 4 years of recognised TA psychotherapy training
2 Students who have passed the CTA written examination.
3 CTA (Psychotherapist)

Holders of the CTA may be able to RPL into the MSc in TA Psychotherapy, this is at the discretion of CPTI and QMU and is decided on an individual basis. People who have completed 3 or more years of TA psychotherapy training may be able to RPL into the MSc in TA Counselling or the MSc in TA Psychotherapy again this is at the discretion of CPTI and QMU and is decided on an individual basis.

Students may be awarded up to 50% credit for prior study where it can be demonstrated to:

  • have met the learning outcomes of the course modules.
  • have been at master’s level
  • have been completed within the past 5 years.

An action plan covering the requirements for the remaining credits to be awarded the MSc will be agreed with the student.

It may be possible to receive credit for prior experiential learning, please contact the office to discuss.
