Starting Transactional Analysis Training Please also see FAQs about TA Training. The Application Process Application Forms are available by email or post from our office. The completed form should then be returned to CPTI with a copy of your CV, a brief Personal Statement outlining the reasons you wish to enter TA training and the names of two referees. Please also include a copy of your TA101 certificate if you have already completed one, or details of the TA101 you intend to take. Also enclose a copy of your Counselling Skills Certificate if you are claiming an exemption from the first three days of training on counselling skills. If you have counselling skills training which you think is equivalent please contact us for assistance. CPTI will confirm receipt of your application and supporting documents, and if satisfactory, you will be offered an interview. Following a successful interview, you will be offered a place for the next intake. Interviews are conducted and places offered two to thee months prior to the programme start. CV Your CV should be a maximum of 2 (A4) pages and contain information on education, qualifications, professional registrations, vocational training, work history, including relevant voluntary work and hobbies and interests. Please include any counselling courses or personal development work that you have undertaken. Personal Statement Your personal statement should tell us why you are considering TA training, whether your intention is to qualify with a counselling diploma or as a counsellor or psychotherapist with an MSc; note however that the final choice of course is not made until the completion of the Foundation Year. Please describe how you developed an interest in this career path and why you consider yourself suited to this training and work. References Please provide the names and contact details of two referees. The first referee should be your current or most recent employer or academic institution; the second referee could be from another source, but not a friend or family member. Please state the relationship between yourself and the referee. Early Application Please make your application as early as possible. Places are limited; in the event of the number of applicants exceeding the places available, places will be allocated on the basis of the date that this application was received. Interviews are conducted and places offered two to thee months prior to the programme start. However, on receipt of a satisfactory application we will reserve a place for you pending completion of the interview. There is no obligation by either party in respect to this reservation. It will be will be treated in confidence and filed securely. Enhanced Disclosure Scotland All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check. At the interview you will receive an application form to be filled in. Please bring three forms of identification to your interview, one of which must be photographic, such as a passport, driving licence or utility bill. These will be copied and returned to you.
